Joe Wagner is the youngest son of Chuck Wagner – think Caymus. Conundrum is another family venture. Joe is a 5th generation Napa Valley winemaker who was trained by a family who pioneered the industry in the area. At 19, Joe launched Belle Glos, and later developed and sold Meiomi Pinot Noirs. He is the genuine article. We’ve managed to get our hands on some of his latest creation: Quilt. Grapes are sourced from a patchwork of AVA’s in order to achieve optimal flavor, color and texture. It’s bold, rich, and seductive, offering jammy dark fruit, layers of spices, all beautifully balanced and ridiculously food friendly. You’ll want to drink it with grilled, seared, smoked or roasted meats. Napa Cabs don’t come around at this price often, and certainly not with this kind of pedigree. Cheers winelovers!

Wine Spectator – 90 points

Bright and lively, with a light bramble note weaving in among the raspberry, plum and blackberry compote flavors as toast and licorice hints check in. The brambly element keeps this energetic through the finish.
